I have read so much about gluten sensitivity for thyroid folks. Research and so many docs, practitioners believe that if you have an autoimmune thyroid, stop eating gluten.
Do you agree?
I've been "gluten free" whole heartedly for 2 months, and before that for about 4 months (I had a ten day slip up in Vienna eating chocalate croissants and sausages and beer) And now I'm reaching remission.
But, we learn as we go...and I've learned, that maybe I haven't been as careful as I thought. Things I assumed to be gluten free are not. I had a salad at the Corner Bakery for example, and recently saw on line that nothing the serve is gluten free! Anyway, I eat out often. I'm sure gluten has gotten in there. And I've read you have to be hard core gluten free, not just mostly...it doesn't cut it. You can't cheat, because the immune response can be so rapid and long lasting from peice of toast.
On top of it, I've had every gluten reactivity test done and it's all come back null: blood, feces, skin. And, I'm not really sure I feel any better off it. I think I feel the same. Well I feel better, but I'm supplementing with so many things and my whole life is improved so much since this thing that I can't say it is the gluten.
Thoughts?
