Hi Elaine,
Thank you for your response to my last post. I immediately took 2.5 mg of tapazole and felt better...My doctor insist I need to stay off tapazole..here's my lab results.
April 2010:
T3 uptake: 34.5 (20.0-38.5)
T4 (Thyroxine) 7.5 (4.4-12.4)
Calculated T7 (FTI) 2.59 (1.05-4.50)
TSH <0.1 (0.3-5.1)
August 19th:
T3 uptake: 29.9 (20.0 - 38.5)
T4 (Thyroxine) 5.8 (4.4-12.4)
Calculated T7 (FTI) 1.73 (1.05-4.50)
TSH: 1.3 (0.3-5.1)
August 27th: Ten days without any meds
T3 uptake: 32.0 (20.0 - 38.5)
T4 (Thyroxine) 6.9 (4.4-12.4)
Calculated T7 (FTI) 2.21 (1.05-4.50)
TSH: 0.1 (0.3- 5.1 )
He is insisting I stop meds. I went back and forth over the phone via the nurse. He say he does'nt want my T4 to drop. I pointed out my TSH dropped after 10 days off meds, which mean i'm not in remission, right? I was'nt feeling well, until I took the 2.5mg and 6 weeks off meds is a long time to feel crazy. My intuition and body is telling me not to stop. I will see him next week for labs, he want to put my mind at ease. I told the nurse, I will more than not con't taking 2.5mg. When I see him next week the labs will show results with 2.5mg of tapozole in my blood. Is there any literature or someway to present my opposition in a respectful way? I can get assertive when talking bout meds, especially if I feel the dosage or lack of will cause harm. This is my 3rd endo..If I had listened to the other two I would've been worse than bad off. Is there anything in my labs that say STOP meds?
Thanks so much, Karen
