Welcome to The Q&A with Elaine Moore. latest lab

Hello Elaine,

My previous lab is TSH 0.044, FT4 1.32, FT3 331, TSI 142%. My endo then up my dosage from 2.5mg to 5mg MMI and my latest lab is TSH 0.123, FT4 1.07, FT3 327, TSI 163%.

Looking at my result, i would prefer to lower my dose to 2.5mg. What is your sugggestion? I also understand that when thyroid hormone drop, TSI will increase? Actually i dun understand the theory behind this.

Anyway, my endo and my reproductive endo has discussed and decided that i should stick to the same dosage (5mg). Reason because ever since my FT4 hit mid range and TSH drop to below 0.1, i have very light period and delayed ovulation. They suspect this will affect implantation if the lining is not sufficient. What is your opinion on this?

I am quite lost now because i know we shouldn't adjust dosage based on TSH. Pls help me clear all the confusion! Thanks for all the great advice, Elaine!

Hi Eeli,

Normally, I would like to see the FT4 higher and this would help keep TSI from rising. However, your reproductive specialist has experience and if he thinks there could be problems with implantation I wouldn't want to go against his advice. With FT4 still in range and your FT3 right where you want it, I'd follow their advice. Best, Elaine
