Hi Jeremy,
Antibodies are molecules made from immunoglobulin protein. Our immune system produces antibodies to various substances we're exposed to like cold viruses and we produce antibodies as a result of some vaccines. If we couldn't produce antibodies we couldn't fight diseases.
Autoantibodies such as TSI are antibodies that our immune systems mistakenly produce that target our body's own tissues and cells. Triggers include low selenium levels, mercury, cigarette smoke, radioiodine, excess dietary iodine, stress, allergens and other causes. Eating too much doesn't trigger TSI production unless you're eating lots of processed foods and foods that you react to (such as gluten sensitivity). For overall health, it would be better to eat in moderation and focus on nutrient-rich foods that are supplying all the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that you need. Best, Elaine
