Hello Elaine,

Thank you so much for your time and energy. I wish there was more of a way to thank you, then just saying so. I buy your books and tell others suffering from thyroid and autoimmune diseases about your work. I am very thankful for you.

So, I'm bringing down my meds. I'm dividing my dose into five slivers instead of four. Which is difficult, they tend to fall apart and some doses are smaller then others.

So how long should I wait to decide if I need to go even lower and how will I know? I thought I would measure it by my weight..since I was gaining about a 1/2 pound a day for the last ten days or so. I'm thinking I should stop doing that. I think that's the only hypo symptom I notice. My energy level feels the best it' been in really long time. I didn't know how tired and out of it I've really felt over the last year or so.

And my eyes, the twitching...what causes the twitching? Is it the antibody attacking the muscle? What makes it do that? It is really annoying. You had mentioned it usually is because of elevated hormone? Mine is defiintely not elevated right now so...if after your hormones are not high, but maybe too low, and your still having eye symptoms, could one infer that it may be because hormones are not regulated yet and it is not the autoimmune type of TED? Is it still to early to tell?

anyway, thanks!

monica

Hi Monica,

Watching your weight is a good way to evaluate your dose since your low thyroid levels were causing the weight gain. The next step if the dose is too high would be to take it every other day. Many things can cause eye twitching, with stress being one of the major culprits. Nutrient deficiencies are another. You could add 100 mg B complex and 60 mg CoQ10 to help with nervous system and muscle function and incorporate some stress reduction techniques--always helpful in Graves' disease. Best, elaine
