HI Elaine,

This is Ling again, just got my latest result 3 weeks after my last one. To recap my TSH has always been around 0.05-0.07 for the past few months and I has been taking on alternate day a dose of 1 mg of carbimazole ( been staying on this dosage since April of this year ), here are some of my FT4 and FT3 range from previous test :

April 2009 : FT4 14.7 ( 11.5-22.7), FT3 3.7 ( 3.5-6.5),TSH 0.04

May  2009 : FT4: 15.9 , FT 3 : 3.7, TSH 0.07

June 2009 : FT4 14.9 , FT3 : 4.0, TSH 0.06

July 2009 : FT4 16.3, FT3 : 4.0, TSH 0.05

Most recent test : FT4 18.5, FT3 : 4.0, TSH 0.02

TSH normal range : 0.3-5.10

What do you think of my result, I am worry about my TSH drop although I was wondering if this has anything to do with my taking green barley tabs and moducare before I went to have my blood drawn ( I normally fast), I am actually feeling better than 3 weeks ago, calmer and didnt notice my heart palpitated as much at night. Should I be concerned about the drop of my TSH??  As for my FT4, it is the highest since April but I figure that should be okay??

Hope to hear your opinion on this, Elaine. Again, thank you very much.

LING

Hi Ling,

With your FT4 steadily creeping up and TSH starting to fall, you might want to increase your ATD dose to 1.5 mg every other day. If this was an isolated incident I'd think it might be the barley tablet, but it looks like a steady trend. That slight change in your dose shouldn't affect how you feel but it'll prevent your FT4 from climbing too high. Best, Elaine
