THE Q & A

Welcome to The Q&A with Elaine Moore. Registered members are invited to ask any question of Elaine Moore on autoimmune diseases, Graves' disease, other thyroid diseases and subconditions, laboratory work, traditional and complementary medicine, triggers and environmental influences, thyroid and immune disorders in pets and animals, and other relevant areas of inquiry.

Each thread represents one question with one answer and will only appear at the time it is answered. Once answered, further replies cannot be made to the same thread since each thread represents only one question. A new thread will need to be started for additional questions.

Questions are answered solely by Elaine Moore, a medical writer and clinical laboratory scientist, MT, CLS, with more than 30 years of experience in immunology. Moore has also authored and edited over a dozen books in the area of health sciences and is an editor for McFarland Publisher's Health Topics Series.

First, I too must share my condolences. I read your post after my previous posting and I am sorry for your loss. You are a wonderful being in what you do for others, you don't deserve such things. I lost my grandma tragically in hospital, and I've never heard that Nigerian saying, but I imagined it for you and it does seem a wonderful thought. I wish I had heard it four years ago. Sending you Love and wishes for peace of mind.

Thanks for the clarity to my Unithroid issue. Your additional points do ring sense to me. I thought Uni was known to be a very good match to Synth, which is why I gave it a shot. So yes, I am disappointed in these additional symptoms. I forgot to mention I'm also having dull head aching (not usual for me-other than with eye pain which has recurred). Well I will check into Sams pricing for Synth. In meantime, please share with me if you think I should go ahead and order new TSI tests to see how the #'s actually are in causing these symptoms per current meds, before I do make the next change. Thanks. :)

Thanks for your condolences. That Nigerian saying has truly been my lifesaver.

I wouldn't bother with a TSI because your immune system works slowly to eliminate antibodies already in the circulation. You likely also have blocking antibodies that are involved in what's going on. You can always ask your doctor for any samples to help you evaluate other brands, and I'm glad you're checking the price at Sam's. best, elaine
