Hello Elaine,
I have Graves (in remission) and I wrote a few months ago regarding my TSH level going up, presumably due to the all of the soy I had been eating unaware. My doctor had said to come back in 3 months so here I am.
My TSH has gone down from 4.16 to 2.56, so that is looking better. My free thyroxine was also good (steady at 11). She did not test for free triiodothyronin. However, she did test for 'thyroid peroxidase A' (I think it got cut off on the test result paper they sent me) but she said she was going to test for antibodies? The result came back at 216 (the range being 0-35) but she said to come back in 6 months for another blood test. What does this mean? It seems very elevated to me. But I seem to be putting on weight, which is the opposite of Graves symptoms? I am so confused.
Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Deb (:
