Elaine,
My husband has been complaining of tiredness, lethargy, etc for about 6 months. His GP ordered tests, looking at TSH and testerone levels. The Dr. called and said all levels were normal but after getting his TSH numbers, I think he might be hypothyroid. As one who has Graves Disease and is on the block/replace protocol, I am very aware of "normal" levels and ranges. My TSH is 0.68, my husband's is at 4.420. Life has been very stressful this last year and he has been struggling to lose weight (though he doesn't exercise but tries to eat fairly low-carb). Based on the TSH results do you think that a visit to an Endo Dr. might be in order?

Hi,
According to the recommended guidelines, your husband's TSH would be considered elevated. He could have subclinical hypothyroidism or he could have overt hypothyroidism. If your insurance provider doesn't require a referral, you may want to make an endo appointment. Best, Elaine
