Is your mother still having menstrual periods? Sometimes, platelet counts rise slightly during or right after the menstrual period. Your mother's platelet count is only slightly increased and isn't a cause of concern.
The urobilinogen is also slightly elevated and this is usually from diet. In liver disease, this level will be much higher and it'll also show up in blood liver function tests. When we have panels, where lots of different lab tests are run, it's not unusual to have one or more results that are slightly out of the range.
The reference ranges we use in labs are based on the test results of a large group of people. But some people normally have levels that can sometimes be outside of this range. Best, Elaine
